Dr Amber Helen Mathie

Amber graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2019, and was awarded the prize for Excellence in Equine Veterinary Practice. She joined a mixed practice in Dumfriesshire and spent her first year working with both companion animals and horses. She decided to pursue a focused equine career, returning to the University of Glasgow and completed a rotating internship at Glasgow Equine Hospital. Following this Amber relocated to the highlands, a long-term goal of hers, and has been working in equine first opinion practice in the area. As a veterinary student Amber visited Kessock Equine Vets for multiple weeks of placement, and is delighted to be back as part of the veterinary team! 

Her free time is dedicated to her two dogs, Myrtle and Tonks. They are all addicted to the dog sports agility and canicross. She also has a rescue cat, McGonagall. Amber enjoys illustrating, juggling and gardening when she has a spare moment!
